A Pair of Arrests Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

The assault resulted in the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
